ten things two

1) first and foremost, RIP - Tammy Faye.  In honor of Tammy, number two will consist of a moment of silence.  Please observe wherever you may be.

2)

3) the festival of creative pronunciation that is was my turkish language class (I quit).

4)
sunlight on the soles of my feet

5) holiday in the Prince's Islands, excerpt: In the haze that hung across the Bosphorus, Istanbul looked something like a painting of itself, its palette faded to a range of dull greys and taupes from centuries spent stranded in the sun.  The only thing that was real was the deep dark water, liquid navy glass that shattered in the wake of our boat.

6) the chandelier and the upturned bed as important themes in my current work

7) having "current work" with "important themes"

8)

9) clyfford still gets me every time

10) coup, the absence of.
Fine, the elections were peaceful and crap.  But there was talk of coup - post-election, turkish military, riot-in-the-streets, secularist COUP.  And I had my heart set on coup.  I'm 21 years old and the only transitions of power I've seen were so sedate they might as well have been presided over by Cheech and Chong.
So, come on, Military!  Don't those guns make you feel powerful? Getcha coup on, already!
